I really can't believe that its been two weeks since I last posted. You'd think that would mean that I've been doing lots of exciting things! But i'm afraid that has not been the case. :( Life has either been just too busy or I've been just bumming and with either case, there hasn't been much to report.
Victory, Rebekah and I took a trip down to Kansas City for my work. We went down an evening before my meetings began and stayed at a cute boutique hotel. I'm not sure what makes it "boutique" but it was a really nice historic hotel. They even had twinkle lights and tulips outside the hotel! It made me extremely happy. I would have really enjoyed my stay much better had little girl actually slept through the night! We went down to their restaurant/lounge to listen to some live jazz music and walked along a river that had some nice bridges. It was enchanting.
Like, I said not much to report. We didn't even take pictures. Lame, I know.
Hopefully, I pick up my slack and start posting more. Take Care Friends!

End of the Rainbow
Where's my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?? It's three years down the road, thats where it is!
A month ago I began to monetize my blog to see if there really were few extra bucks in blogging. Well after 1 month, 10 posts and I'm not allowed to say how many page impressions, I've made a whole 82 CENTS!!!! If I keep this pace up I'll have to post 1,000 more posts in order to earn $100 (which is the amount I need to achieve in order for them to pay me.) hmm. Even at 1 post a day that will take me a little less than three years! WOW! Nope. sorry not ambitious for that and not willing to publicize my blog beyond my friends... at least not this one.
On another note, I've been assigned to a search committee for a job here in our department so I was reading applications last night. Its quite hilarious to be on the other side of the application and reviewing it. What are people thinking?? I'd say more about the candidates but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to or not. But Victory could tell you that I sometimes some the applications pulled at my little heart strings or just made me bust up laughing because of what they wrote or how they wrote it.
I also decided that the cover letter to an application is super important. As I read the letters I wanted them to tell me why they wanted THIS job and what specifically from their experience/resume makes them a good candidate. These letters can be tricky. You want to sell yourself but at the same time you don't want to sound cocky or snobby. This is the first time I've been assigned to a search committee. I think that this will be an interesting process. I'm not necessarily looking forward to the actual interview process. I know what happens to me when I'm the one being interviewed but I have no idea how I'll react being on the other side of the table.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Orange?
Ever since my second trimester of my pregnancy with little girl I have enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. However, at that time I was only trying lots of yummy desserts. Lately, I've been trying new dinner recipes. And I've found some yummy easy ones mostly from Sisters Stuff.
I really enjoy this recipe for Orange Chicken. My question is why do they call it orange chicken when there isn't anything orange about...it doesn't necessary look or taste orange. But nonetheless, yummy. Victory likes it because it reminds him of a favorite dish his mom makes.
12 CHICKEN TENDERS ( I use 2 chicken breasts but could probably do 3 at least)
3 EGGS
½ C. CORN STARCH
½ C. FLOUR
GARLIC SALT (SPRINKLE)
OIL

Cute as a Button..literally a button!
Which came first? Lately, I've been seeing items at Target that I've previously seen on blogs. Which came first the blog or the product on Target's shelves? One of those items are button earrings...well they looked very similiar to the ones I saw on a blog but I'm not sure if Target's were originally buttons or not.
I also noticed that my blog friend, NieNie wears earrings that look like something that I could totally make out of buttons. (Okay, she's not really my friend...she has no idea I exist but I feel like I know her through her blog, sad isn't? My husband would just laugh at me for saying that, I guess you could call me pathetic.) :D But that makes me think that button earrings could potentially be cool....right??
These are the first of many earrings that I'm going to be making. I want to go a little more crazy...these are kinda grandma-ish kinda cool.
Now, I have one more section of the craft store that I will be scowering. ;)

Sweetness
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
We had a very sweet Easter and when I say sweet, I mean sweeeett! I got to the point that even I, Miss Choc-oholic, said no to chocolate and about left my mom's house before I had dessert. It was a lovely weekend and enjoyed the time I had with family.
Our little girl has been learning to sit up on her own but....
She's obviously still learning. :) hee hee

So you think...
When Victory read my diatribe he told me that if had he read this when we were single he wouldn't have dated me. He would have been too afraid of how I would react if he had to break up or did something wrong. I'm not going to lie...there's some truth in that. :) (I really do feel bad for all of my past boyfriends or interests...if you're out there, sorry that I'm a crazy-head!) I am just sooo thankful that I've got a wonderful man and that stage of my life is OVER! He really was a brave guy to take on this crazy girl! :)
Anyway! I've heard a friend mentioning this blog called So You Think You're Crafty ...its like So You think You Can Dance and American Idol but with Crafts on a blog. I finally checked it out this last week kinda cool. I know I have a few friends who might be interested in it...at least a few sisters who might be anyway.

A diatribe
A diatribe, is that the right word? Anyway, I feel like I've had a few annoyances with businesses lately and when I feel like a business has done me wrong I don't forget easy. And for whatever reason I feel like I should share those annoyances with others to forewarn them or to just avoid that business...as if my opinion really influences any one anyway but it makes me feel better. Maybe its just pure revenge, I don't know. The last business to really tick me off was Hy-vee and its taken me about six months to buy much of anything there. (I won't go into this one but don't order photo cards there.)
Wow. Whenever I 'm able to express my frustrations I feel SOO Much better. So now that I'm feeling better after that bitter diatribe I'm going to leave you now. I hope you have a good day!
Annoyance 1- GOODRICH ICECREAM...GAS STATION CLERK!
Do not buy Goodrich Icecream at the gas stattion at 84th and Old Cheney. I love Goodrich icecream....yummy! However, do not let a woosy gas station clerk serve your icecream. Seriously, I got a half a scoop on top of my cone and nothing inside it!! And for that I paid $1.59 + tax! I just sat there looking very very disappointed but lacked the words (which came ever so easily once I got into the car). DO NOT SHORT CHANGE ME ON MY ICECREAM!!!!! It was the most pathetic thing I ever saw. However, DO try their icecream at their shops on 70th and Vandorn or 48th and Pioneers. My favorites are the chocolate chip cookie dough and Orange Casanova. I also enjoy the Colbyridge popcorn that they sell!
Annoyance 2-JCPENNY'S
Don't pay for your purchase at JcPenny's online with a gift card. I bought Victory a couple pairs of jeans and a pair of shoes for myself. For the $100 purchase I paid $15.00 with the gift card. I went to return my shoes and they wouldn't put it back on my credit card. They didn't have my card listed on the receipt! The only thing they had listed was that I paid $15.00 with a gift card. LAME! I know I'll spend the money on the gift card again (in store this time) but really?? Obviously, I paid $85 out of pocket. I still like JcPenny's but ...annoyed.Annoyance 3...but RESOLVED annoyance with PRO-FLOWERS.COM
Victory bought me flowers for Valentines day at PRO-FlOWERS. When I pulled them out of the box they just looked sad. I hoped they would perk up like the instructions said after they had been in water for 8 hours. But no. They just got sadder and sadder. Everytime I looked at them I got depressed. It was the saddest Valentine's gift I had ever received....I'd rather have not gotten anything. But then I found out that they have an awesome policy. They guarantee their flowers to last at LEAST 7 days. So I got to pick out new flowers...TULIPS...they were beautiful! So I would definitely reccommend them. If they don't get it right the first time you get more flowers!!Wow. Whenever I 'm able to express my frustrations I feel SOO Much better. So now that I'm feeling better after that bitter diatribe I'm going to leave you now. I hope you have a good day!
