Sweet little Halloween

Hey! Hope you all had a fun Halloween weekend. Halloween is much more fun with kids, isn't it? I know it will only get better as Bekah gets older.  Here she is trunk or treating.

This year I have developed a few pet peeves about trick or treating. If you're old enough to go trick or treating by yourself then you're too old, in my opinion. However, if you are teenager taking a younger sibling then I'm okay with it. But if you're a group of teenagers, take a hike. I obviously don't have the guts to say no but I think I'll just be handing out a lame tiny piece of candy to them.

The other pet peeve is that kids are just reaching into the candy bowl and grabbing the candy. And maybe that's just how everyone else does it but I grew up with them handing that candy to you or dropping it in your bag.  I find myself fighting a pessimistic view that kids are growing up greedy and without manners.

ANYWAY, we also went to get a pumpkin at a nearby, free, kinda lame pumpkin patch. But it got the job done, we got a pumpkin and got some cute pictures. Sadly, we never got around to carving it.

Mr. Pumpkin Head...I guess that was Victory's  costume. :)
As promised, that if my family ended up having their Halloween party, I'd share a picture of my costume.

I'm happy to report that I did pretty well in the donut eating contest this year.  I came in second, after my brother. Victory, well, he didn't do so well I think my three year old niece beat him. He claims the contest was rigged. hmmm.

That was our sweet little Halloween week.

Super cute costume! Read my rant on stupid older (and stupid ungrateful) kids. Funny enough, my sister in law also vented on her blog today about the same thing! Whatever happened to good old trick or treating? Why must we all be so greedy?!

Little miss Bekah is growing up too fast - but she somehow keeps getting more adorable, so I guess it is acceptable.

I'm so glad you guys had a good time!

I once heard one of my neighbors tell a group of teenagers that they were too old for trick or treating and sent them away without candy. Hooray for Elfie! I was especially glad since they practically plowed over my very small children to beat them to the door. What is wrong with these kids? Greg had to prompt almost every kid to say "Trick or Treat." They would just stand there and stare at us waiting for candy. Bekah and you look adorable as always. Did you eat a donut for me?

Thanks again for dinner last night it was yummers. Your costume was really cute and I think that you should mention what a pro your daughter was at trunk or treating. But if I remember right she grabbed and took candy, and I'm pretty sure she said neither thank you or trick or treat. Ha Ha.

Halloween is the best with kids! and I totally agree with the pet peeves...I feel like by that age I was at some kind of stake dance or party or something. Don't they have anything better to do than come to a trunk or treat meant for tiny children. Ridiculous.

Adorable costume! (I liked yours too: very creative). I can't believe she is that old--I think the last time I saw her was maybe the Lincoln Stake Valentines Dance. My, how time flies. Oh, and those pet peeves are mine too (not that we've ever had trick or treaters since we live in a locked apartment, but they would bother me:)

When i'm a teenager on Halloween, i'm totally gonna disagree with that.
