Question: Do you ever click on the ads that are posted on blogs?
Question: Would you ever consider putting ads on your blog for money?
Question: Would I be lame if I did? :)
I've thought about monetizing my blog with Adsense (you can do it to your blog too). You get paid for either cost-per-click or cost-per 1000 impressions (by how often their ad shows up on your blog). It sounds like the likelihood of making much is pretty low but I am curious whether it will work or not.
So, if you have any experience with it I'd like to know OR if you think I'd be completely LAME-O for trying...let me know! I don't want to lose any friends or visitors because of my curiosity. :)
If by your comments, I am not deemed "LAME-O" for trying, I will do a trial run for a month or two and let you know how it goes because really, I'm curious. If I can make enough to buy a Frozen Hot Chocolate from DQ in a couple of months- I'd be pleasantly surprised.
*Random side note: Back in High school I used to work at DQ. Pretty much tried everything. My absolute favorites: Strawberry Banana Smoothie and the aforementioned Frozen Hot Chocolate Smoothie. HEAVEN! You won't see them on the menu but you can still order them.

Sometimes google won't pay you until you get 100$ worth of unique clicks, which for this blog would take forever. You have little control of what adds go up, at least that's how it used to be. But there is no harm trying.

Alissa, IIIII personally would totally give it a shot. I mean, like JPI says, it might take forever, but it won't hurt, will it?
We use Adsense on our blog. I don't think it's lame. I haven't checked our earnings in a while, but as of December I think we had earned $10 or $11 after having Adsense on for a couple of months.
I was going to say what Jared said... I won't think less of you for putting it on your blog.
I remember picking you up lots of times from DQ and lots of times I'd miss it because the lights were already out. What fun days!
I have toyed with the idea as well - in fact, I created a separate public blog just to see what it was like. I haven't checked my adsense, but I doubt I've earned anything yet. I think it's a good idea to a least try it out.

I was curious, so I just looked...I have earned $1.38 over a few months on a blog I rarely use. Not too bad for "free" money. Maybe I'll quit my day job.
I'm sure if you're actually posting regularly you'd earn a lot more because people would read it more...

Some people have gotten really good at it and make decent money. You could always get some books on it or just research on the internet how to boost your clicks. Dallas loves that kind of stuff, but hasn't found the time to get good at it. It comes and goes in waves. ;o)
