Well, this post, my friends, is a post to boast. I felt like I started off my maternity leave quite void of any crafty skills. Partly because I really do lack them and partly because I had been so out of practice with my creative and fine motor skills. I felt like such an klutz around the ladies in my ward. Seriously, they were making hair bows for little girls and I completely struggled, I felt like a fumbling idiot. Well, I still can't make hair bows. For whatever reason that seems to be beyond me. I'll just leave that craft to the ladies of my ward and my sister is who is a master of that skill (BTW, Stacey, I LOVE the bows you made me. I now realize that there is more to them that I originally thought.)
But I have a few things to show for my maternity leave and my developing creative and crafty side.
I have taken up making little girl bracelets. (I haven't ventured into the world of making grown-up jewelery. So far, it doesn't sound as fun but I don't know how many bracelets a little girl needs.)
I made myself a new scarf. It's been nice to have since it's been such a freezing winter.
This year our family exchanged Christmas ornaments for Christmas. So I made 12+ little snowman ornaments. (I have no idea what I was thinking. When shipping to twelve different people don't send glass balls. Next time, I'm totally doing something that will fit into an envelope.) :)
By the way, I LOVED exchanging ornaments. Now I have an ornament from each of my siblings that I can put on my tree every year and think of them. I'm not sure if I should have a favorite but my favorite ornament, was the most unexpected, a handmade ornament by my brother Jimmy. It made my heart smile. :) (Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to rotate it on my husband's silly mac.)
The other night I was looking at my Christmas decorations and lamenting the fact that they must soon come down. I hate it when they come down. Everything looks so drab. I was looking at my "NOEL" blocks and realized that I could turn them around and decorate them for the next upcoming holiday and spell "LOVE". So today, I took a trip to Hobby Lobby and spent way too much buying way too many things but this is my end result:
I still have a few more projects that I want to accomplish before my maternity ends in only 14 days. :( We'll see what we can do.

baby bracelets are so cute, but like other such lovelies for your little gal, consistency is key... what I mean is if you don't want her sucking on them and pulling them off make sure she's always wearing one then as she gets more dexterity and curiosity it won't be a point of interest because she's always worn a bracelet. Does that make any sense?
Looks like you had crafty success. Enjoy that. The hair bows are cute, but I never really got into them on my first and with my third it's just too much of stress, they always fall off or her brother pulls them off... I switched early on to the Tatties I make myself. They are just always on for the day to day cuteness.
You go girl! Those bracelets, ornaments and blocks are SO SO cute!
I agree with the previous comment consistency is key. I didn't have any headbands for Marley when she was smaller and now I do but she will only wear them for a couple of minutes...she's just not used to them.
What are Tatties?
Confession:
When I was trying to learn how to make hairbows (a desire which came completely from deseperation since I couldn't find the colors I wanted, not from a desire to be crafty since I long ago left that category to Kristie)I could not get my fingers to work at all. In fact it was Greg who finally showed me how to do it. How's that for being a crafty mom? The bracelets are beautiful and I haven't knitted/crocheted anything since I was making rugs for our Barbie house. Way to go!
Your stuff looks great! You're very crafty!
You are super creative! I haven't found my creative juices yet...maybe when I get to stay home...I don't have high hopes though for my uncoordinated fingers. ;-)
Did you know that out here in "Mormon-Ville" there's this big craze with women's watches that have big beads and they make them so you can change bands... just fyi you could spread the trend to Nebraska...along with the whole Sentsy thing! ;o) But you could make quite a bit of money with Sentsy in NE. I don't do it, but that's bcs. I live in Idaho... EVERYONE has a Sentsy candle (myself included)
This is a response to Becky's Question.

are little decals that go on lil baby girls' heads (or bigger girls, my 5 year old likes to wear them to kindergarten). They stick on with Karo syrup, ky jelly or elmers glue, wash off with water and are reusable. They can stay on for days.
They are low profile and cute, if I do say so myself.
I want to make those LOVE blocks right now! They are so adorable.
very cute blocks! I want to do something like that. Enjoy the time at home!!
I wish I had any motivation to be crafty. I realized yesterday that I am so bored, but I am too lazy to do anything about it. Projects and creations make one happy.
Wow look at you Miss Crafty! I love the bracelets, it is all so cute! Miss you guys!
