Can I tell you I have completely mixed feelings about my due date? I want her out and the very same time I think she can pretty much live there for a long time.
I WANT HER OUT!
I WANT HER OUT!
- I'm tired of waiting and facing the unknown.
- I want to know what she looks like.
- I want to adorn her in cute shoes, clothes and bows.
- I want to hold her and make her laugh.
- I'm tired of her kicking my ribs and creating back pain.
- I want my body back!! I want to run, eat and play. Roller skating is definitely on my list of things to do once I'm able. I want to go shopping again for cute, clothes and pair of sexy jeans. (oh my!) And cute shoes...I miss my shoes! I know my feet don't look it to those who don't know my feet because they were so skinny and skeleton like before but they are swollen and I swear are a size 10 now!
SHE CAN BE A PERMANENT RESIDENT
- I'm terrified of having a baby. LABOR!! YIKES!! I know there's the epidural but things can go wrong. Someone that works in mydepartment had their baby last week, 30 hours!!!! two failed epidurals and a spinal tap. And episiotomies, oye! And will I be able to get a hold of Victory? He's so stinking busy right now I'm afraid he'll be away at a football game and I'll be delivering her all alone.
- We are completely unprepared for her! We aren't moving to our two bedroom apartment until September 29th. So we've put off buying anything for because we have no where to put it right now (except a few clothes...and a crib and bedding being stored at my parents house). I'm hoping to go buy a car seat soon so if she does comes early we can at least take her home.
- What am I going to do with her once she's out? What am I going to do when she cries all night long? How do I get her on a eating/sleeping schedule?
- Not sure how to make things work financially with me working possibly only part time or not at all and the increase in insurance? how do people make it these days?
- I'm going to miss the movement of my little girl in my tummy. It's kinda fun to feel her there.
Well, you're guess is as good as mine as when she'll come out but I thought it would be fun to get your input. Her due date is October 19th and my maternity leave starts October 14th.... when do you think she'll come?
Also, we've been keeping her name to ourselves because we were afraid of negative feedback, however I'm not so sure about that name anymore. And just so we don't go to the hospital without any back ups do you have any name suggestions? Hope you come up with some good names...by the way Victory likes common but not popular names. :)
Can't wait for your feedback!!

I bet Baby will come two days early. :)
If I EVER have a girl, her name undoubtedly will be Gweneth.
GOOD LUCK!!
I will vote for Oct.10th...earlier is always better than later. The surprise makes labor better too because you thought you still had a while! ;o) Girl names... Hanna, Ella, Madalyn, Abby, Lainie, Ally. I'm with maggie...maybe someday i'll have a girl!!!
Jared says the due date. I say 3 days late... sorry :) I always had questions about most of my kids names... hopefully the name you have chosen will stick :) Good luck!! You can do it!!
I'll go with a day early. As for names, I too have kept our favorite names "secret" so if we end up with the same name I guess it just means we have good taste! Good luck.
Take a deep breath and remember that people had babies long before there were cribs, apartments, epidurals, etc. and they seemed to make it just fine. Just think how lucky you are that you get the option of those things. As far as the car seat goes, you'll be in the hospital for two days before you'll need it so even if she comes early Victory can buy one while you're in the hospital. By the way the first 2 weeks are rough, but it does get better. I vote for October 12th and I think Adelaide is lovely, you can call her Addie and sing that song from Guys and Dolls to her. Breath, breath.
Yes, Kyra, I thought about that. I definitely wouldn't want you guys to be giving out your special names that you hope to use for your future children. :) And Stacey, I like it...very similiar to Maddie but I like it!
Hah, let me see, I vote for October 16th. Girl names that I love are London, Ellyanna, Madison, Brook, and Morgan. You are going to be a brilliant mommy.
Hey, I know how you feel about being torn between wanting the baby to stay in and wanting the baby to come out! You will be so happy when she arrives, though. :) And about making it financially, you just pray and do what Heavenly Father wants you to do and everything will get taken care of. It can take a lot of sacrifices, but being right with God and your family is worth it. :) You will be a wonderful mother. As for names, I like older names, like Sarah, Naomi, Emma, etc. I say make a short list and take it with the hospital. You will know what her name should be when she comes. :) And I'm going to guess that you'll be 2 days late!
She'll come when she's good and ready which will most definitly be after you are. You'll love and adore her and her name will be absolutely perfect. That's my prediction.
I so understand about wanting the baby to come and for the fear of how it will come. The last month seemed to last the longest for me, and my guess is Sunday, Oct 18th (so Victory can for sure be there). As far as names goes I'm sure you've got a great one picked out. Our future girls will probably be named Savannah and Sadie...feel free to use them if the name fits. :-) With your last name I also think that Alice, Brooke, Megan, Audree, and Mekensy sound good with the Haines name too. Good luck!
Hey! You have a bunch of comments! No need for me and this one.... well I think if I had my choice I would say on a saturday afternoon....maybe right before fall break...? Whoops that's after the due date! Well if she's anything like her dad (which I hope not) then she'll be late.
5 days early,
I name my kids strange things, but if I didn't I would name a girl Lillian or Lilly. And so far as negative feedback, I got plenty of that when I shared what we were naming each of our kids, but it didn't change anything because Gary and I were both so together on it-why start over? You know how hard it is for some couples to pick a name they both like.
You'll do fine, kids don't really need anything the first 3 months so far as STUFF.
So far as a schedule and sleeping try Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth (I haven't read it but I hear nice things about it) we read BabyWise by Gary Ezzo and Robert Bucknam and had success and 5 years later our daughter is independent, happy and a good sleeper and she was totally an up all night baby. Our last one has just been the perfect baby so residue of what I learned off the first two and her fabulous self it's been seriously easy.
Good luck, and don't stress God wants you to do this, so he's going to help you. And it's so incredible. So far as labor, I've never had an epidural for the reason that my mom had 9 and tried once with an epidural and hated it and never did it again... With my first I figured, I'm having a baby, I want to know what it feels like. And Anaphalactic shock is WAY worse than labor. esp because you don't get anything so wonderful out of it.
NOVEL.
The end.
Girl names, hmm... how bout ashley or katie or sadie or dawn or... I'm outta ideas. well good luck with the baby. Oh yeah I think the baby will be late. If not it's gonna be tomorow. Bye!
